Hi there, Bicycle.
I was a bit confused by your reference to a 'certain UNNAMED author,' in comparison to T. Pratchett. You referred to 'HER'; are you calling Douglas Adams a Woman?!
BTW: You'r right about the marketing departement, of course.

Well, I guess sometimes ignorance is an excuse.
As you take such exception to the use of the word bathroom, perhaps you should know that most of the early settlers of the colonies used outdoor privies. They did, however, tend to keep the washing basins and tubs indoors, especially in winter.
As time advanced, and indoor water pumps became more popular, the bathroom was created for purposes of bathing. The introduction of the toilet to the interior of the domicile came still later. It was the toilet (don't know why they both have to be in the same room) that was the late-comer.
This is why it continued to be called a bathroom.
Strange that you should so selfishly insist on your word for it, while accusing others of being selfish?

Hi A-Dr-J,
Thanks for the clarification, but I don't know the H*rry P*tt*r stuff, so I guess I should excuse my self from that part of the conversation. I wasn't even aware that it was supposed to be funny?
Still, a natural assumption on my part; I would have thought that DNA and TP to be much more alike, style-wise, than whowever pens the kids stuff.
Key: Complain about this post
