Accidents happen, as you will know if you have ever watched 999 with Michael Buerk. You set out for a nice day's hill walking, but it all goes wrong when you fall down a pothole with no way out. Your colleagues have called the emergency services who are on their way and you are none the worse for the ordeal. The only thing is they might not get to you for sometime.

How on earth are you going to pass the time?

• Would you choose a nice cup of tea or a hip flask of something stronger?

• What would you do while you are waiting?

• Would you want your fellow walkers to keep you amused?

• Or would you demand a Bluetooth enabled laptop to keep in touch with h2g2?
