The link to the caption competition actually goes to this page - Philosophical Phrases 8, and the other way round.
Was someone dizzy overnight?

Oops!
Not sure what happened there, but I know we were juggling with the Front Page for a while to accomodate late arrivals.
All fixed now - thanks MIna

Oh dear
That could be a little tricky!
When's the next meet then - or even better we should have another Dutch one I suppose.

Dear, dear Mina,
You won the privilege of seeing how it is done, so you can learn how to do better next time.
The finest minds of our stage of evolution racked their brains for nanoseconds of excruciating commercial time to write, edit, and rewrite the winning captions.
And it shows.
We look forward to seeing more of your efforts in print and on accomodating walls and drunken executives.
And... they're off !

I did win one once, before I was an Editor, when I was allowed to join in BBC competitions. Bah.
Still, I have learnt from the best.

Oops!
I didn't know you were disallowed.
I had thought of you as a regular person.
How cruelly our expectations are dashed...

You win some you lose some, I'd give up a thousand H2G2 tshirts to work there, even if it was realy hard work. Its the pride in that matter.

I don't think that I would have won anyway, although Abi did have a good laugh at one of mine. I only contributed to get the competition going.
Doc Mo, we'd love to have you work here! It would stop all the arguments about who was going to make the if we had a boy.

I used to get that here too, I can prove to anyone that my tea making abilities will make any Researcher sit down in a corner while they consider LUE.
Shame my english is about as good as rope unbrella, or I could help out with the editing .

Awards ceremony?
I wish... About the only way I'd get over there before the end of the decade, likely *sigh* Of course, by then Tom and I would be dragging PaperBaby around, and maybe younger siblings. (And of course PaperBaby wouldn't be a baby anymore...)

You could always do a sponsered Birth weight thingy, were people put money down for a certain birth weight and time/day. that should raise a few funds, epecialy if you do it on H2G2 and tell people it's to fund a trip over to the UK.

not exacly a bad way to spend money, you'd be a bit silly if you didn't make ends meet. what I find uncontrolably guilty is spending money on things I know I either don't need, could do without. or wasting it. admitidly I mostly take this view on others (no hints needed for who I think this applies to) but thats just my own biased view. I know I wast money all the time.
