Cornish ice cream is just very rich vanilla. I think they were trying to make out that it's as creamy as Cornish clotted cream when they called it Cornish. Doesn't mean that it comes from Cornwall - it's just someone's idea of a marketing ploy smiley - smiley

It is very nice though smiley - tongueout

That's Cornish? Over here we call that French Vanilla. You can usually sell anything in the U.S. if you put a country in front of it. On St Patrick's day we usually enjoy Corned Beef & Cabbage. My Irish grandmother said they never eat the stuff...too expensive for the Irish. They usually ate ham & cabbage.
Irish coffee is a good idea. Finally a good combination of whipped cream and alcoholsmiley - cool

smiley - laugh And perfect at any time of the day, even for breakfast smiley - winkeye

I must admit I've never seen French Vanilla ice cream here in the States, although I am familiar with FV coffee - one of those instant coffees that comes in a small oblong tin... International Foods make them I think.

If you go to the freezer cabinet today there's a bewidering choice of ice cream flavours, especially if you're looking at a cabinet full of Ben and Jerrys and Haagen Daz smiley - online2long

I've not bought ice cream before because I couldn't decide which flavour to get. On such intenses hot chocolate is a good substitute. It is always chocolate flavour.

Irish coffee is great stuff.smiley - biggrin Have never come across French Vanilla though.

Not familiar with that store. We have HEB and Randalls down here in Texas, and I've been to Ralphs, Vons, and Pavilion in California.

Peanut brittle was accidentally invented in 1890 by a woman in New England when she used baking soda instead of cream of tartar in her peanut flavored taffy.

I didn't either... but I made peanut brittle for a living a good while back, and I don't ever remember putting anything in it except for sugar, glucose syrup, and peanuts smiley - erm

Maybe American peanut brittle isn't the same thing as British peanut brittle smiley - smiley

Perhaps so. Could compare the ingrediance lists, but that would require finding some peanut brittle, which I have not acheived so far.
