believing that I was creating far-fetched science fantasy when I sat in a typing class in High School and practiced my skills by writing about a miniature football-shaped text-messaging device.
Now, look!
I still have pictures that I drew of it.
Yet, my stepfather told me to get my head out of the clouds and stop drawing on my school notepaper and stop writing that crap.
"You can't make a living doing that stuff", he said.
"You can't eat a book," he said.
Of course, he thought the moonlandings were a Hollywood hoax and homosexuality was a virus...

"I do think we're going to have to get a more coherent message together" to convince Congress of the case for military action.
Oh that Trent Lott, the last voice of reason in America, sent off to the American equivalent of Siberia (scandal) to shut him up.
Y' figger your step-dad would enjoy his company then, eh?
