h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

For a concise and accurate review of the bands history, one should not have to look further. While much of what he said is very accurate, I would personally have to disagree with some of his choices in personnel(and this is only personal preference), I've always felt that the heart and soul of Yes was comprised of Anderson,Bruford,Howe,Squire and Wakeman while the weakest bands were the Buggles Edition of Yes as well as the Rabin era band. The two strongest recordings that stand out in my opinion are Fragile and Close to The Edge with a nod to The Ladder and Live At the House of Blues for a)a return to the sound that they had though, sadly minus Wakeman and Bruford and b) for the pristeen live sound quality so superior to the mix and master on Yessongs.

I agree totally with your preference in personnel. I am not aware that I expressed any preference of my own in the article. Any Yes website contains masses of discussion about "favourite lineups" etc. The fact is I would choose any of them over any other band on the planet. I suppose if you pinned me down, my least favourite album is Big Generator.
