I am very sorry but I know you I have asked the question I hope you do not mind answering it again.
Please tell me how do you change the Font type and size using Guideml.
Please tell me how to do bold and italiced text in GuideML?
Can you do underline, right and left aligned text in GuideML as well as centering text?
My favourite font size is New Courier. Is New Courier Font available on Guideml?

Hi JA,
I thought I covered a couple of those questions in your previous batch on F48871?thread=253088:
bold text
italics
underline
People don't use underline much round here as it can be confused with clickable links.

One way to get Courier (or at least fixed format text) is to use the tag:
this should be monospaced
Otherwise you have to use the tag and it is normally better to specify more than one option in case the end computer doesn't have the one you want to use. Note that it is the reader's computer and not the BBC one which matters for font display. Courier really ought to be available on all though!

SEF I am sorry but I have looked through the thread that you have mentioned but I did not find anything on Font types or sizes. I have looked at my previous notes I do not have anything in my book on it. Please will you help as I would like to learn how to change my Font type and sizes when doing an entry. Please will you tell me if New Courier Font is available on GuideML. Thank you for your help SEF.

You are not a pain - it is not something which is easy to guess and I hadn't got round to typing it in! I infer from the absence of the FONT tag in the <./>GuideML-Clinic</.> that they are not keen for people to use it. You can specify a font face, exact size or change in size, colour and all sorts and even combine them into one tag. The danger is that you may make a page unreadable for someone else.
This would be bigger red typewriter text

Hi SEF
JA: You won't be able to see the courier font on your digibox anyway as it's not supported.
loup: Sorry, yes I did mean about the yikes button. It seems a little silly now it's a community moderated site, that some of the community can't use the yikes function.

Thank you SEF and Kow for your advice.
I know that when I did word procesing Times New Roman was the default font on every computer I used. Please tell me if Times New Roman can be used in GuideML.
Thank you.

I do not know if this is an appropiate place to ask but do you know a fool proof way of making pancakes that don't stick to the pan and are easily tossed over?

kow Posted Mar 4, 2003
JA: With font face, you might be better leaving it blank, as that will use default then.
Pancakes, make sure the pan is well greased and hot, and keep moving the mixture around. That should make it easy to toss. Oh and good luck

SEF Posted Mar 4, 2003
How does a digibox show text then, kow? Is it left blank, not monospaced at all or just not calling itself Courier?

Loup Dargent Posted Mar 4, 2003
hi everyone...
kow: regarding digibox/yikes button... yep... more than silly actually... i'm going to contact the italics about it tomorrow and post the link to the previous discussion on the issue... there were some interesting comments there on top of the fact that we were told that something will be done...

Hi JustMe
Try this one
CountryTempRain Fall
UKColdA lot
Everywhere Else WarmNot A Lot
The "Table" sets it out,and the "border="2" puts it in a box, if you miss "border="2" out, it will still be a table but not in a box
starts a row, and puts the heading, you have to open and close each heading
again you have to start each row with and the put the items in each box, you have to open and close each item, and close each row at the end
let me knoe how you get on

Manda that looks complicated, so many codes.
I have looked at JAB test page but I found it too whelming for me to take on. GuideML still looks like an Alien lanuage created by race of sadistic aliens to confuse humans.
Please tell me what fonts can I use in Guideml and please tell me what are the codes to do this with. I cannot understand how you change the Font size, in Word it was so simple ie 10, 12 etc.
Word is so easy all it involved was highlighting your text and clicking on to the necessary icons on your tool bar which could be modified to your own liking. I can understand Word but not Guideml and I have even done desk top publishing. There where number of templates you could use either on Word or desk top publishing if you were stuck on ideas of styles of presentation. All you had to do was delete the text that was there and put your own in. It's a pity there is not something as easy as that on h2g2.
Thank you Manda
Katrine
