Before entering the relms of childrens television and doing funny voice overs of animals....
No wait....

And another thing.
I resent the inference to 'obscure' records.
Its a Bears career record, you wouldn't call it obscure if it was about
Payton...hmm.
The only thing obscure about the Bears at the moment is the inability to pick a decent QB in the last 10 years!!

Well, I guess I have to award the point on this one for Johnny Morris. I was able to find a source that named him and the 5000+ yards as the record holder.
Unfortunately, my normal source named Walter Payton with his 4,538 yards as the record holder. Guess I need to find a new source.
Thanks for stopping me from screwing that one up... and here I thought I was playing such a safe line of questioning.
Amfoot Trivia Question 0185
Thunderbear...and don't you forget it Posted Nov 10, 2003
Johnnys exploits are covered in What Bears They Were,an excellent book,I'm currently reading.
The irony is that he wasn't even drafted by the Bears, but having seen the team play decided that there type of football was for him.
And so a leg end was born....
New question to come.

There is some irony in the aforementioned point that Johnny Morris should go play for the Bears ... do you think he did the funny voice thing in front of Mike Ditka or Dick Butkus?

Very possibly, would imagine he used to voice over for Staley(the Bears mascot)
There is a 3 picture series of Mr Morris in receiving action in What Bears They Were.Directly behind him near the touchline is Mike Ditka.
