A fine entry, Euan! There is obviously a lot more that could be added, but I like your idea of keeping the entry concise so that other people can write about their own favourite aspects of Edinburgh if they want to.
As you've mentioned the Scottish Parliament, you might like to link to its official website: http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/ . That aside, I think this is just about Guide-ready.
