Video: Murmuration in Pennsylvania

A murmuration of starlings by SashaQ.

'We couldn't see the birds up close,' says Mrs Hoggett, 'so I couldn't tell you what kind they were. But there were thousands of them!'

The sight was astonishing as they watched them wheel and soar and change directions over the cornfield. The banging noise you hear is from Farmer Hoggett hitting a drum to stir them up so you could see them.

They settled into the trees. 'Look closely at the branches!' said Mrs H. 'Those aren't leaves, they're birds!'

The Hoggetts wanted to share their excitement at seeing this migratory event. So here you are.
