It's a Sign: March of the London Scottish

Editor's Note: In spite of what TV Tropes says about us, we're not all British. I'm not, for example. Some of us hail from the Danube or the Limpopo, or other rivers, mountains, or shores. I do not have a clue about these 'London Scottish'. Frankly, my reaction was 'London Scottish whats?' Suzy Q in the Highlands here obviously felt that this plaque was self-explanatory.

What I got out of it was that a lot of military somebodies marched around in 1937. I strongly suspect that most if not all of them were wearing the kilt at the time. It's also my guess that bagpipe playing was involved. Personally, I like a good bagpipe tune. If anybody who happens to be British or a military historian would like to enlighten us, we would appreciate it.

Text: Lt Col TW Cuthbert, CMG, DSO, TD, 4th Seaforth Highlanders, and Lt Col LD Henderson, CMG, MC, TD, 1st London Scottish to commemorate the march of the London Scottish through the Highlands July 1937
