Last summer was dry, and this winter had a horrid cold spell (10 below zero F), which seemed to have killed off most of our roses. I planted some more, only to have the "dead" roses recover and start blooming with abandon (copious rain has helped).

Roses are tough. You may need some Neem oil to discourage the rose slugs, but otherwise they are troopers.

If those are from last summer, they are worth showing again. smiley - ok

Yes, roses are tough. The white/orangey one broke several times for various reasons. I first had it planted in a pot on my balcony when I still lived in an apartment, then planted it in the garden, it didn't like the spot, re-planted it somewhere else, now it grows again.smiley - smiley

All these pictures are from a few weeks ago. The dark red/pink ones at the top grow in front of the house and must be decades old.

The white/orangey one is unusual - impressive that it recovered so well after being planted somewhere it didn't like and being moved smiley - ok
