As chapter 30 is closing in, the story is wrapping up.
I still wonder how many real people are left in this world of androids.
Some internal drawers to keep things safe would be handy for everyone...

Tavaron is (probably) referring to the Discworld variety. Clay men with a piece of paper / scroll in their head acting as a kind of software that defines the actions of the golem. You could call them the Ur-robot.

The discworld version of golems was probably in my subconscious, which is overcrowded and not well-organized.

Speaking of golems, of course my first thought is of Prague.
If you're looking to read a good horror story, may I recommend Bari Wood's 'The Tribe'? It has a modern setting, and the golem is truly terrifying, but then, so are the people.
