Are there long fluorescent lights to give the seedlings enough light to grow? Or are they special plants that don't need light?

My sister uses her cellar for growing seedlings. I use my windowsill (a sunny window), but my sister dwarfs my operations.

The switched colours / stolyline put me on the wrong foot initially. Ususally the green one comes first.
