It doesn't look like it is going to stay sweet for long, but it is nice to have some breathing space in between the plunges.

Yes, this story is definitely always turning for the worst. smiley - erm

I'm sorry I have to question this:
Why do they wait with the DNA testing until the baby is 6 months old? By then it can sit alone and eat semi-solid food. It's not a newborn anymore. They could do the test in an early stage of pregancy?
My guess: they actually want 'finished' children which they bring to a secret place to use them for whatever. They do WANT them to be born and out of the earliest stages of babyhood. Not sure if that makes any of what's going on any better, tough. smiley - erm
(I just take it for a fact that in this alternate reality DNA-testing for crime actually works and that wasn't a lie, too)

Yes, this is a bit of breathing space.

Good point, Tav - this is definitely a horror story about statistics…

Episode 3: “ Convicted criminals were DNA screened and 100% showed the DDV marker, then detained suspects accused of crime were screened, 99.8% showed the marker.” - nobody had been wrongfully convicted, as judges were 100% accurate in acquitting people with low propensity for crime…. Easy to imagine the statistics were retrofitted by the ‘powers that be’ to absolve them of any crime…

A difficult story to read indeed - statistics can provide a certain amount of information about people, but individual people aren’t statistics…

The person you are is a composite of genetic tendencies and experience. Identical twins with greatly different experiences can be different in how they react to the world
