You know Prof there's a bunch of stories behind this one. There are actually two birds that use a 'ploughing' style of feeding. One is a kingfisher that uses its beak to dig up the soil in search of yummy worms; the other is a Skimmer, a relative of a gull, that has a narrow beak that it 'ploughs' through the water with to catch fish.

And then I was also inspired by my reptile-hunting friends, the one uses a short, narrow stick to dig in the dirt for burrowing snakes and legless skinks. So I put all that together and came up with this bird and its foraging behaviour and equipment!

Poor thing, alone of its kind! Maybe I could endure listening to the song ...

The world notices natural disasters (including freak weather), death of celebrities, and unavailability of favorite foods.

These are all surprises. We may notice sunrise and sunset, or we may just take them for granted.
