Okay, so the subject line is translated from Greek, not Latin. Also, it is *not* a direct translation of the Latin proverb.
I'm pretty sure that immodesty (immoderateness?) and insanity somehow go together, though. My two years of Latin ended in 1965, so I can blame orgetulness if I have got it wrong.

"Ira" has two meanings in Latin. It could mean "anger" or "will be". I looked up a tramnslation, and here it means "anger."

Ah, those ancients!
Living a balanced life, without going to extremes. Which, of course, was a goal, not a certainty.
Young adults might well go to extremes in their pursuit of the opposite gender, which could become madness. Immodesty? Showing private parts of yourself has usually been regarded as too provocative....

As far as I understood, the morale in those ancient times was quite different from now.
It is mostly Physics students who are very interested in private particles. (Ask Higgs)
