In any event, I never liked the idea of commuting long miles to jobs.
I find that I only drive about 20 miles a week now, if that. Granted, I have groceries delivered three times a week. Traffic is light around here lately.

Yes, as long as hot summers don't bring about an increased demand for air conditioning!
Where I live, we've been pressing the local council to require the provision of renewable forms of energy for newly built houses (solar panels or heat pumps), without much success so far.

I've never had air conditioning in my house. Just fans. My electric bill does not vary much between summer and winter. (My furnace needs electricity to turn on and off.)
