The berries/cones that are used for medicinal purposes or the flavoring of gin are from the female plants, but male ones produce yellow or tan ones. If you just want a nice groundcover or landscape accent, and the berries are not vital to you, disregard what I have written about getting both male and female junipers. Or, if yellow berries/cones are okay with you, that is fine, too.

I was hoping to add the following in an appropriate place:
"The hole where you plant it should be twice as wide as the container the juniper came in." This is basic planting information that someone would want in order to give the plant as good a start as possible. smiley - smiley
