Well spotted everyone - I thought it was strange that there was a gate with no fence, but of course it is a universal back scratcher for the sheep

Indeed. Lots of creatures are good at finding backscratchers. Bears do it on trees all the time.

A. Do we know whether sheep blush? That's a human concept, but it may not apply to other animals.
B. This looks like a very satisfied sheep. I wouldn't expect blushing from it when it's that happy.
C. This is a photo. You've heard of photoshop? Things can be removed if the photographer doesn't want them to show.
