Thanks both smiley - biggrin

I dread to think how big ‘almost frighteningly big’ is smiley - laugh

I’m grateful for my vacuum cleaner, too, as I don’t like spiders either. Possibly I got the fear from my mum, but then she is afraid of moths as well and I don’t mind them. The way spiders move makes me nervous so I can’t relax when I see one with a bigger body than a daddy long legs spider. The daddy long legs fly makes me jump when one appears, but its movement is different so I’m not particularly scared of them.

Yes, last year was not a good year - I encountered four massive ones... My dad helped me with the first one, my neighbour grabbed the second, and then I hoovered the last two up and they were put outside the next day.

I've already had to hoover one up this year, not quite as big as last year's lot, but still too big for me to stay sitting at the computer while it crawled round the curtain next to me smiley - yikes

Today's house bug is a gnat, I think - kind of like a crane fly, but smaller, so that doesn't bother me as it flies around. I tried to get a photo, but it hasn't stayed still for long enough yet smiley - laugh

smiley - biggrin so you didn't get the fear from your mam - I'm impressed by her technique smiley - ok

Yes, great that this issue of The Post is celebrating moths as well as flies! I was pleased to discover this one A87997504 which is a White Satin Moth, I think. The Hummingbird Hawk Moth is always good to see A87997478 and even the brown ones A87997450 are fascinating, how well they would be camouflaged against wood or bark smiley - ok
