The joke may be on the rabbit.
The seeds haven't even come up yet. What'so n the other side of the field that interests the rabbit anyway?

If I got to choose between soldiers and models, I would know what to do...

I hope that you would.
The rabbits in my area seem uninterested in soldiers and models. They don't like me to get too close, but close is a relative word.
I think they like clover and grass and maybe dandelions. Some rabbits like kale or beet greens. Last year, though, I had a beet patch, and the rabbits wouldn't touch it. So, rabbits probably are as different in their tastes as you or I.

Do I want to figure out what those rabbits were thinking?
Heck, it's a challenge to figure out what *I* am thinking, and I'm the one who's doing the thinking.
Still, bunnies are kind of cute. Lot of predators think they have one added advantage: they taste good. And some cartoonists have made iconic toons out of some of them.

Maybe they were just checking out the state of asparagus.

Note to FWR: if you like asparagus, you can eat the new sprouts of those Solomon's Seal plants and eat them as if they were asparagus.

I'm not sure The Netherlands would approve if the State of Asparagus were to join the USA.

Well... If it is currently part of Dutch territory, I think they are entitled to do just that.

Is there actually a State of Asparagus? I thought you were just joking.
QWhen I look up the constituent provuinces of tghe hetherlands, this is what I see listed: Noord-Holland, Zuid-Holland, Zeeland, Noord-Brabant, Utrecht, Flevoland, Friesland, Groningen, Drenthe, Overijssel, Gelderland and Limburg. I grant you that the province of Limburg might be a touchy subject if the U.S. tried to annex it. I doubt that it has any plans to do that...

If there even were a State of Asparagus, which there isn't, as far as I know, it would be Limburg.

I think the cheese is coming from Belgian Limburg. I could be wrong though. To me, each and every kind of cheese is evil.
