A Conversation for More Arachnophobia

I had forgotten that bit

It took me years to discover that spiders weren't crazy. Most creatures when you stamp your feet run away, not towards you but they react to vibration on the ground as they would in a web. By coincidence my mother's family name is actually Webb.

Yes, that's true that spiders will run away if they detect vibration coming towards them.

I then worry about where they went, though, and what they do in the night when I'm not watching them...

One morning a few years ago, I put my coat on, and for some reason I looked over my shoulder and saw a spider sitting there smiley - yikes I took the coat off, looked over my shoulder and saw the spider sitting on my jacket smiley - yikes so I took the jacket off. Thankfully the spider stayed in the jacket rather than on my next layer of clothing, but I had to call for help to sort it out after that!

"For all of you with no fear of spiders this may seem very funny, but for us arachnophobes it is anything but that I can tell you, though I did find the incident with the dog amusing as it didn't happen to me." - well said...
