It's interesting to see what downtown shops have had to do to stay in business in these times of etailing. I guess everybody needs scissors (it's horrid how easily one's scissors lose themselves!), and you'
ve gotta be able to try your clothes on rather than guess at how they'll fit when you see them online.
That reminds me that I haven't done any Christmas shopping yet!

I hadn't thought of that – do people use the scissors to cut the labels off new items of clothing in the changing rooms in order to half-inch 
them?!

I'm not the person to ask about that. 
I live within three miles of some very heavy-duty clothing stores, assuming that I will be needing new clothes in he near future.
