A couple years ago I planted half a dozen red maples along the riverbank. The leaves are gorgeous every Fall. The first tree I ever planted (back when I was 16) was a red maple. It has a glorious crown now.

Oh, I can imagine that this looks very pretty in fall!
We had so many trees in the garden already when we moved in that so far we didn't plant any new ones. We had to cut quite a lot down on the other hand because they were old and/or dangerous. I did however put peach and plum seeds into pots this year and got 4 trees from it. I will probably plant them next year, depening on their size.

I planted a wild plum tree last Fall near the riverbank. It had lived in a very large planter all last Summer, It is quite a lot bigger now than when I first got it. I babied it with daily watering, and its foliage was lush.
A marvelous photo!

Marvellous photo indeed - I love the way the light catches the leaves and brings out the colours, in contrast to the dark branches.
