I know how beautiful mimosas can be. One of my neighbors has a Silktree Mimosa in her front yard. The blossoms are like tufts of pink, and the foliage is delicate. The thing is, it should not be able to survive the winters here in Cold hardiness Zone 6, but it nevertheless does (seedlings from its seeds never last more than one warm season; the cold kills them.)
All in all, a charming plant. Did you take this photo recently? I would have thought that the blossoms would be long gone, and the seeds blown away by the wind by now.

I love that picture. If it had been blue grey instead of green, it could have been the next megalomaniac building project in Dubai. (Please don't tell them, or they might get ideas)

Thanks everyone
Yes, the sensitive leaves are fascinating! I took this photo at the beginning of October, so it was quite late in the season but it was in a sheltered spot in Chester Zoo

This brings back memories. My grandmother had a mimosa tree in her front yard in Memphis when we were children.
