FWR:

Anyone else thinking Scar from Lion King? Great shot of this magnificent guy. That half asleep but keeping an eye on things is priceless.

DG:

Have not seen Lion King, will not see Lion King, even with John Oliver in. I love this photo. Cats are cats. Never mind that they're big enough to eat you. That is one beautiful cat.

Noel Coward, Ed Ames, and Inga Swenson? smiley - huh Had to be late 1960s, but I totally missed that one as a Richard Rodgers score. smiley - huh

The lion in the photo seems to be disgusted by the lies and shoddy workmanship in the latest Disney "Lion King." It's enough to make the king of the jungle flee to Oz.

I remember a 60s tv version with Fred Gwynne that was really funny. smiley - laugh I couldn't find a clip, though.

Oh, lord, I've found the 1952 film version!

Paul, you will like this. Not only does it have Victor Mature smiley - rofl, but Alan Young is playing Androcles!

Translation for everybody else: Alan Young was the man whose pet horse, Mr Ed, talked to him on US television in the 60s.

Also: Elsa Lanchester! Maurice Evans as Caesar! Jim Backus (Mr Magoo) as the Centurion!
