FWR:

Wanted to capture the hills fading into the distance and just couldn't do the view justice in colour. Monochrome brings out the feeling of distance. Beautiful place.

DG:

Just about any view of the Aegean hits me with a palpable wave of nostalgia (I used to live on the Greek side of it). The features that make this photo for me are the mountain lines and the glint of sunlight on the water.

The Aegean, wine-dark sea of the ancients. What impish gods are racking their brains trying to think of torments to inflict on us mortals? smiley - evilgrin

mmmmm I love. That shimmering otherwordly light on the water, the varying shades of the hills, the palm tree silhouettes.

I wonder what the hills look like in colour? Earth green haze? Ochre haze? I do love this monochrome magic, though. Takes it to another place.

What did this landscape smell like? Is it like Greece, with the fragrance of wild thyme from the hillsides?

If you've got the money, honey, I've got the thyme.
