Perhaps all the eagles are out working on their merit badges .
Quabbin reservoir in Western Massachusetts has some bald eagle nests. The nests are on islands in the reservoir.
Some predatory birds do okay in cities as well. The Custom House Tower in Boston has Peregrine Falcons that having been raising chicks for the last 19 years.

Eagles and falcons appear to be doing better these days. In Philadelphia, the falcons nest on tall buildings and atop bridges.

Raptors can be entertaining to watch. When I was in Rochester, New York, a friend brought me to Braddock Bay Park, where one could watch falcons, hawks, and eagles launching themselves into the air in search of prey. Falcons have also been encouraged to nest on tall buildings in downtown Rochester. Rochesterians must be proud of these raptors, because their hockey team calls itself the Raptors. The city has an Eagles Club, a lacrosse team called the Knighthawks, and a football team called the falcons.

I guess they like raptors, then.
We mostly see buzzards around here.

That's what buzzards do - they circle. They ride the thermals. They look for things to eat on the ground. Usually dead things.
But they are not above snatching kittens, so we hid them.

There's a prevalent notion that cats are secretive about the names that they call themselves.
I think T. S. Eliot played a part in fostering this notion.
