Narcissus is the genus that daffodils and jonquils belong to. There is also a species in the genus that is known as Narcissus. We used to have some when I was growing up. White petals and a border of pink. I think they're called paperwhites?

I have plenty of daffodil plants this year, but few of them actually have blossoms. No matter, in future years I can buy pots of daffodils and use them to replace the ones that can't be bothered to bloom any more.

I know the pink-white ones you mentioned, but I don't know what they are called. It seems that daffodills generally have no blossoms after a few years, my mother seems to have the same problem. I also have quite a few leaves in my garden without blossoms.

I got some new ones which are much smaller. I can't even remember that I planted them, but I must have done it.

Yes, that is well placed, with the splash of yellow above the blue hyacinth! Very pleasing to see

I like them all. Cnsidering all the rabbits and squirrels in our area, it's lucky that daffodils are rodent-resistant.

We don't have rabbits in our garden and the squirrels seem to focus on our walnut trees.

I just now scared away a squirrel from one of my planters .
