Thanks paulh that is interesting this is half a world away. The countryside of France, Lower Normandy, the district 61. Sounds like a nice place your brother lives.

Hi DG Pennsylvania as well, its interesting how the planet duplicates the landscape around the world. This could also be parts of the UK Hampshire.

My brother's actual house is on the side of a flat-topped hill. he has spent 25 years landscaping it with enough plants to start a botanical garden 
.

I think our father inspired him by planting unusual things like Sassafras and Tamarack trees on our family estate. Also dog-tooth violets and Trilliums. My sister told me the name of every plant on our land.

I thought it was the South Downs. But the Downs aren't that far from Normandy as the seagull flies.
