I got the idea to write this Entry after I found the one about StrauĂźenwirtschaft (A14017754). I thought it would be a nice break from Arts history.

This is an interesting article which could be particularly useful for people travelling in Austria.
I wasn't sure what you're saying about Sturm. Do you mean it's a wine which hasn't been allowed to mature and is cloudy?
I was surprised to read that people grow wine in Vienna! Presumably you mean in the area, rather than in the city?

Thanks!
Ah, cloudy, thanks, that's the word I was searching for. I added that.
In Vienna wine grows on land inside of the city borders, but of course not in areas with a high density of buildings.

An excellent summary of the topic concisely covering food, drink and geography - well done
I really like your introductory paragraph - sets the scene very well In this day and age, it might be as well to say "people traditionally spend their evenings at the pub", though, as many pubs are closing for various reasons
"plain glasses with handles"
I can't visualise these - are they like glass mugs?

Are the handled glasses like ?
A very enjoyable entry I do have a couple of suggestions for you to consider?
'a foreigner may have to ask locals for directions' – I think 'tourist' would be better than 'foreigner', unless it is true that people from West Austria who have never been to that particular village in Eastern Austria before will nevertheless automatically know their way
Are you able to say how large the areas you've mentioned are? For example, I could let you know that there are 40 acres of vineyards on the Isle of Wight (10 acres at Adgestone Vineyard, 30 acres at Rosemary Vineyard) but unless you know that the Isle of Wight is 94,146 acres it doesn't give you much of a picture. (In comparison the Isle of Wight Garlic Farm grows 50 acres of garlic and Wight Salads alone has 66 acres of tomato greenhouses).

Thanks Sasha!
glass mugs, thanks a lot, that's the right word I think
Thanks to you too BB!
I changed foreigner to tourist
Good idea about the size comparisons. Maybe a map to show in which regions wine is grown would also be a good idea?

This is the first entry that has made me go . Excellent humour!
I particularly liked >>If you have bad luck an old man with an accordeon may show up...<<
'accordeon' should be spelled 'accordion', I think.
You've really set the scene, with the chickens and cats and everything.

Well done Tav. I hope to go to Vienna some time and your entries will be a great help. Accordeon I have only ever seen written with an 'e' but that may be the French way. Editor please check!
