My next Entry about architecture. This one took me lots of time and I'm not sure if I always managed to explain everything properly.

It still needs a sub-title, so if anyone has any ideas...

Well done! This is interesting reading - fascinating how buildings evolve

I had a few questions on first readthrough:

" shaping the border to aisles" - what does this mean? Were the columns inside the basilica so there was an aisle between the outer walls and the inner row of columns? Ah, yes I see you mention the columns are inside later on

Where is St Peter's Church? Also in Italy? St Peter's Basilica in Vatican City is well named to emphasise the evolution of the building type from meeting place to church

"Therefore the central hall of the church is not square anymore but gets a longitudinal shape." - I can't visualise 'longitudinal' - does that mean it is more rectangular?

"a greek cross" - does this mean a cross with three short arms and one long arm rather than an X or a +?

I wonder if the subtitle could be something like: from Catacombs to Churches

Is the thing about the columns and the aisles clear or do I have to reword it?

Yes, it's St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. I changed it to that name.

I changed it to 'oval', which I should have written from the start.

A Greek cross is one with arms that all have the same length and are arranged at right angles. I made a footnote.

Oh, and thanks for the sub-title, I also had something like that in mind.

"the picture of the gods" - should that be something like "the image of the gods" to allow for statues as well as pictures?

"uncounted churches" --> "countless churches"
