Aloes appear in almost every crossword puzzle I solve, but I'd have to go to the Rio Grande to see it growing. That's a long way to go.
Kalanchoes have striking red blossoms. I think I've seen some growing in the plant section of my local supermarket.
Those photos of aloes as tall as trees are very striking!

Glad you like! Over here, the kalanchoes generally have yellow flowers. The pink- and red-flowered ones mainly come from Madagascar! Kalanchoe blossfeldiana is the one most often sold in nurseries or supermarkets.
