I was going to plant three Dahlia bulbs in planters today, but it was chilly and rainy all day. Dahlias like their soil to be above 60 degrees, which it will be in a day or two, so I will plant them tomorrow.
I bought a couple of tiger lilies at a garden center today. Those will go up by the side of our entry ramp.

I planted the dahlias in three large planters yesterday. They're in my back yard, where they'll get a chance to grow and bloom. When they're in bloom, I'll put them out where people can en joy them.
There are much larger planters out at the entrance to our park. I put the tiger lilies in the middle one. The ones at right and left had flowers last yea,r but they've all died. At Christmas, I bought some little Juniper trees with red bows attached to the tops. Today I cut off the bows and stuck the little trees into the big planters, one on each side of the tiger lilies.
Last Summer I bought a peony and planted it near the top of the entrance ramp. It seemed to die. But in the last week something has grown up in that spot, and it seems to be a peony. So the peony wasn't dead after all. There are big fat buds, in fact.
