This was what I noticed near the beghinning of this week's Post:
"We have fiction. We've got a kind of quiz you've never, ever seen before. We have poetry that will make you stop and think. And oh, yes: we've got video. This issue would give you your money's worth even if you paid something for it. Think about that. Here are some of the don't-miss highlights"
Never seen before? Have I heard it or felt it, though?
Your poetry won't work for me. I can't think when I'm stopped.
My money is worth less and less due to inflation. This means that someday you'll hardly have to lift a finger to make the Post worth buying. Of course, Fate is fickle enough that it will be precisely then that you'll start to charge money .
Thinking about it would make my , but since I'm a masochist I'm all right with doing just that.
And, yes, I thoroughly intend to miss the highlights. I'm old enough to be grumpy, and I need practice.

We will leave you in peace in your grumpiness, then.
Yes, but do you have any bridges for sale? ;-)

Thank you, Dmitri
I'm a dyed-in-the-wool satirist, and your comments gave me the best material I've had in months.
So, thanks.
It's going to rain cats and dogs today, so there's not much point going to the beach (it's coming to me, if anything). So while I'm inside, I think I may read the Post....

I harvested about 60 gallons of rainwater.

We got three inches of rain yesterday.
The physics of rainwater are basically this: if your roof covers 1,000 square feet, and you get the average amount of rainfall per year in Boston (42 inches), then 25,000 gallons of rainwater will fall on your roof. I have about 700 square feet of roof, so I would expect 17,500 gallons. But this year is wetter than average so far, so harvesting rainwater is very easy.
Key: Complain about this post
