FWR catching the moment here, and giving me vertigo, but happily so, I will be dizzy in the name of art. smiley - artist

I love the graphic design of the road markings, seen from this perspective, and the cars looking like dinky toys, and this pattern is unique because those vehicles will never be in the same place again, at the moment the shutter clicks.

In fact nothing will be the same, even in the very next moment. Erm.. bit philosophical. The light, shadows, etc. Not even the road markings, those white lines, they'll be slightly different, maybe not to the naked eye but ...

No, I'm not prepared to prove my random philosphical theories. In fact I think I'll have lunch. smiley - rofl.

Great pic, as always, FWR.

That is an amazingly profound thought, CC - that this particular combination of Things will never be in exactly that arrangement again...that photography catches that...

Okay, Anglo Saxon School of Philosophers: make something out of that! smiley - rofl

Sorry, I just got up...smiley - sleepy...

How do we know? There might be an infinite number of universes and, in one, far, far away, an identical pattern might occur. smiley - headhurts

What???? mvp adds a mysterious question mark to the philosphical mix.

cc paces her room, clutching her brow.

mvp knows, mvp knows, she whispers. I must find her original article.

She then rushes out on her bike into the city night, and pounds on the door of the Akashic Archives.

The guy at the night desk thinks she's the pizza delivery, and opens the door.

She persuades him to take her to the Tenth Floor, where the h2g2 Coffee Table Booke, Space and Space Travel, The Original Parchment Handwritten Edition is stored....

This reminds me of ages ago, 2005 I think it was, when we all went mad and did a group writing exercise disguised as a role-playing game. It went on for about a year, and we posted more words than the longest known novel, 'Clarissa', which is a million words long...the BBC was so mad at us for doing it, they stopped listing the 'most popular conversations' on the Front Page, because we wrote 300 posts a night.

Anyway. This went on for so long that I had a dream about it. I was under an overpass in the Akashic City, and a mysterious figure offered me an enormous book. It was jewel-encrusted, like an ancient codex. I looked inside, thrilled...what treasures did it contain?

The text of the blasted RPG. Some fool had printed it out! smiley - rofl

And before you ask, and you will: A5942207 Here. The whole mess is in the threads at the bottom, still on the servers. As it says in the Bible, 'that he may run that readeth it.' (Habbakuk 2:2, I've still got my Bible mojo.)

You know what?? You won't believe this, actually you probably will.

The other morning I woke at about 3.43am, thinking about that amazing ongoing story all you people were writing, all those years ago. It was totally brilliant, I remember keeping up with your postings. I was enchanted.

And I said to myself, 'I wonder what happened to Liam?' I really wanted to talk to him. smiley - rofl.

There was a character called Liam, I know there was.

I meant to tell you in fact, but I forgot, and now you post this.

Well, I can remember all now. I can't believe the scripts are still intact and accessible! These scripts must be preserved!!

smiley - redwine

I'm really into that overpass in the Akashic City, that is so evocative. And I love that book in the dream. I think it did contain treasure! The best treasure! The RPG texts!

Of course I do! I always saw it as one of the h2g2 legendary events.

I remember being very aware that all the participants, the writers, were somehow getting more and more on the same frequency, your brains were syncing, and you were reaching great heights.

Are none of the co-writers around any more?

I think it should be celebrated as being an h2g2 landmark event. Its legacy must be preserved! A Guide Entry could be written, giving the background.

I'd do it myself if I could.

The individual scripts could be somehow woven together into a full length masterpiece.

It would be time consuming, but worth it. Calling the original participants! Where are you??

Ah the Mariposa magic awakens! And some of the writers are still around! OK, let's go, people, bring this masterpiece to light!

smiley - bluebutterflysmiley - bluebutterfly

And for anyone reading this, who wants even more instant enlightenment than D's link, just Google h2g2 Mariposa. smiley - bluebutterfly

All aboard the Mariposa. You couldn't be lost in space with a more peculiar crew, on a more extraordinary ship, if you tried. smiley - rofl

Beta RPG. Dramatis Personae.

These bios are hilarious and brilliant. I have them on my phone screen right now.

I'm supposed to be making contact with my life. Ah well, farewell other life. smiley - rofl

Lieutenant Commander Aldar Swiftwater

Chief Medical Officer Aldar Swiftwater is half Irish, half Sioux medicine man. He believes in holistic medicine and not mollycoddling patients.

Corporal Samantha Wilhelmina Larris

A Security worker usually known only as Sam, though she's also been referred to as Samlet, Sammy, Samthing, and even Bill. Dislikes silly nicknames and Sgt Foxdale, and is fond of mints and coffee.

smiley - bluebutterfly

Damn, I wish I was the kind of person who could organise a year's worth of brilliance, hundreds of postings, and turn it into a book overnight. smiley - book

But that person is out there ......

Or, excerpts could be printed in the Post, or illustrations reworked or re imagined by the new artists who are around now, smiley - artist or a Gheorgheniplex illustrated version? or videos, like with the Nigel series?

Or else I'll just give up life and read it all on my phone for the next 20 yrs. smiley - rofl. All your fault. haha.
