I am really interested in your life in France. How close are your neighbours, there. How did you go about finding the property?

Our house is in a little village on a hill, near the River Lot. There's a church, about 10 houses and a creche. In the village, there is one other English couple, one Dutch man, and the other neighbours are French. We sometimes run to interesting conversations in two languages.
My husband found estate agents (immobiliers) on the internet. Then we booked a self-catering house for a week and went looking. I wrote a short description of our house-hunting trip in A87893167.

Wow, that is interesting. Is your husband handy with fixing up things? I guess it took a while to get the barns emptied out. I must have missed the first entry on this, thanks for the link.

They never got really emptied.The Dutchman parked his van in the big barn 
. The smaller one we use for storing tools - which doesn't stop the black redstarts nesting in it!
