Yes! Shelley doing a bit of cosmic travel on the wings of words. Amazing pic and goes with the poem no doubt.

Nice piece!

I love the woof aethereal delicately twined.

What exactly is woof aethereal?

We're not talking woof woof hounds here smiley - dog methinks.

W*k*p*d*@:

'In weaving, the weft (sometimes woof) is the thread or yarn which is drawn through, inserted over-and-under, the lengthwise warp yarns that are held in tension on a frame or loom to create cloth.'

Couldn't have said it better myself. smiley - winkeye

I'm always impressed by the way Shelley sees nature. <smiley. And how he got that image, so long before anybody could have made a picture of it...

Yes, Shelley, bit of a genius. 'Poetry lifts the veil from the hidden beauty of the world.'

Actually I just checked that quote cos I don't know as much about Shelley as I should. It's amazing how many of the quote I do know, though, without realising.

I'm getting into a Shelley phase.

What??? He was born near Horsham in West Sussex?? That's quite near where I come from, originally.

Why am I surprised that Shelley was born in Sussex? I suppose its because these type poets take on a godlike status, and you think they might be born in some kind of temple, with pillars, with people in robes wafting around, in gardens not this earth.

Mind you, its nice around Horsham.

smiley - laugh That's cool to know, about Horsham.

Maybe that's why he and his friends were always hanging out in trendy places like the Aegean and Switzerland. So nobody would say, 'Sussex? Who's poetic in Sussex?' smiley - winkeye

I think they would have fit right in during the 60s, though. I can see Shelley, Byron, and Keats in Greenwich Village.

heheh. Yes.

I like the thought of them in Greenwich Village. Brings it into a culture I recognise.

Picasso was in Sussex also. I remember when I saw this pic of him having tea at Farley Farm, again I was astounded that it was Sussex

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/art/art-reviews/8406870/Farley-Farm-Where-Picasso-came-to-tea.html

I don't know why I'm so astounded. Sussex is home to the Bloomsbury Group, Mervyn Peake, Ravilious, lotsa lotsa artists, there's always been a notable arts scene there.

Perhaps its also to do with people from paintings, not photographs. smiley - rofl. If they're in a portrait, before the camera, they're even more immortal.

No, that's daft.

It's very interesting though. And I guess famous people live everywhere. Especially before they were famous. smiley - rofl Have to be born somewhere.

Howzabout where you live?

So far, we haven't run into too many artistic people up here...smiley - winkeye
Art tastes here run to furniture made of antlers. I am not making that up.

Artists in this region head south to Pittsburgh - which, as you know, is the home of Gertrude Stein and Andy Warhol. smiley - laugh

Furniture made from antlers???? I love it.

What's the chances of a photo, or, better, a gheorgheniplex cartoon.

I must think about this.

Antlers from what?? Deer I guess, or moose?

smiley - reindeersmiley - reindeer

Heavens! I had no idea that Gertrude Stein and Wahol came from Pittsburgh.

I'll have to see if I can get some pictures of antler furniture. smiley - laugh Today, we looked at non-antler furniture. The kind with umlauts in - Ikea. smiley - rofl The folks were viewing furniture to get ideas for the 'tiny house' that's going up over at the farm as a guesthouse. smiley - smiley

But that gives me an smiley - evilgrin idea for a Christmas gift...hehe...

Love it. smiley - kiss

We have a new Ikea being built on the edge of Exeter. We pass the construction site every day. It's huge!! Made out of steel girders by the look of it.

I find antler furniture rather lovely. I was looking at some on Google images. The Antler/Ikea range. smiley - rofl. Perhaps I'll drop in some flyers.
