Fascinating article, thanks Willem! You've really captured the character of this guy.

I've met a few hipsters with yellow beards - they tend to run coffee shops in the East End of London. I used to think they were odd, but now it all seems so perfectly natural smiley - smiley

Interesting comment about yawning. I wrote an entry on the phenomenon once: A54557607 and it was all a bit of a mystery, then. I'm interested to learn if it's now understood to be appeasement/greeting as you say.

Glad you liked it Icy North! I liked your article about yawning as well ... in wild primates it can serve different functions: sometimes to show aggression or intimidate a rival, sometimes as a greeting or for appeasement as here ... perhaps other functions also, the whole deal isn't understood perfectly yet.
