Oh yes! He played Ricky Tarr in TTSS - a pivotal role. I can remember clearly him being debriefed by Alec Guinness.

I think I used to for Hywel Bennet. Looking him up on IMDB that was probably either in Doctor Who in 1965 or in Romeo and Juliet in 1967 (most likely the latter).

Horror legend Tobe Hooper, director of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Poltergeist and Salem's Lot.

I have watched quite a lot of horror films, and TCM stands out for me for two reasons. Firstly, because it takes a set of hateable idiots and makes me fear for them anyway, just because what happens to them is so awful. And secondly, because it is one of those horror films that starts with zero budget, zero industry good will, basically no resources at all, and still manages to come out with something worth remarking on. That's more than you can say for some $100 million budget blockbusters.

A bit of a local hero as he came from around these parts and was a good speaker.

Wildlife artist David Shepherd, famous for his paintings of elephants
http://www.express.co.uk/news/nature/856577/david-shepherd-artist-death-paintings-wildlife-foundation
The Express describes him as a 'legendary' artist, however I have it on good authority that he did actually exist in real life.
