h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Children grow way too fast! It's hard to believe that PaperKid is 12, and Notepad is 6. PaperKid is growing to be a nice young lady, though she's getting to be the age that more frequent shoering is needed--she's inherited my oil production, unfortunately. During season, 'twas easier to remember to remind her to shower at least 3 times a week--practice was twice during the week, and game(s) (sometimes there were double headers) on the weekend. Her team was undefeated this year, btw, which I may have mentioned elsewhere, after they also won the tournament

Notepad is also a wonderful girl, though very different than PaperKid was at her age. Notepad is more... intense. And strong-willed.

Both girls are entering 4H this year ( http://www.4-h.org/ ). PaperKid has already been to her first Beginning Sewing meeting, and has also signed up for Archery, Robotics, and the Bucket Calf project, which she had done when she was 6, but not as a part of any organization. (The Bucket Calf project involves training a calf to be halter-led from the age of 4-6 weeks (I think) up to fair time, which would be about 3 months later. Notepad will be joining Clover Sprouts, which is to 4H what the Brownies are to Girl Scouts. She'll also be doing the Bucket Calf project. I'm kind of surprised that neither chose to do poultry--then again, the chickens are mine, and I've pointed out to them before that, just because registering a rooster for 4H means that we can legally keep one here, the houses are too close together here to make having something loud not a good idea.

I have happy memories of 4H Club. I'm glad your girls can take advantage of it.
