I am glad to see you have recovered from last week, Benjamin. Many times I respond to your column but I feel like I can't say anything that could help, and sometimes if someone says the wrong thing it can make a bad situation worse. So I say nothing. But your column is a tremendous service to all Post readers and I think it might go a ways to improve bad habits of humans who just DON'T GIVE A DARN about their neighbours.

Letting people know your experiences helps people become more respectful of their ill neighbours and other people with problems. I find that you and your lovely wife are VERY RESOURCEFUL and you both make me ashamed of being too dependent or just lazy. It should make me play the card too often and make me a better partner to handicapped people close to me.

Hi Elektra. Sorry I haven't responded sooner but I've had internet probs all week.
I don't want to make people feel guilty or set myself up as superior, there are ways in which all of us could probably do better, and ways in which we are all contributing something we should pat ourselves on the back for. If I have guided you to reassess what you are doing then I am glad as long as I haven't made you feel bad, and I am always grateful for your responses.
