- just a quick note, 'named pages' don't work at present in this version of h2g2. It's unlikely that this new researcher will have switched preferences.

I'll remove this Entry on behalf of the author. smiley - smiley

Hi Demosthenes - your ACE will guide you through our system, and we'd really welcome new writing, but it has to come up to our standards, which are fairly rigorous. But we are friendly and helpful so please feel welcome! We hope you extend your original subject in line with our guidelines, which can be found here A53209 [click on the numbers]

Best of luck!

Hello Demosthenes
I always enjoy reading articles by new authors, and would love to know more about this museum that you have described as being 'mind-boggingly amazing'. So far I know that it is located in Oklahoma City, is a museum of bones and has a lot of reading. We would love to know more.

Can you tell me some more information about it, please? Such as:

How long has it been there?
Do they concentrate on prehistoric bones, human bones, animal bones?
Are there any noteworthy ones?
How are they displayed? In sections/arranged in themes? Are they in glass cabinets, or are there interactive displays?
What is the story behind the museum? Has it been there long? Does it have a University/Hospital origin, or did some loveable eccentric start a private collection, which is now open to the public?
If I was in Oklahoma City, how would I get there? Does it have a carpark, is it near a train station, bus stop, prominent cycle route?
Is there an entrance fee, and does the museum have a website?

Please please do answer at least some of these questions in your article - don't worry if you can't answer them all. We would all love to know some more about the museum, and make sure that any article we have about it truly does the place justice.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Florida Sailor All is well with the world

Hi Demo;

I hope you don't mind my abbreviating your name, we all do that heresmiley - smiley

As I count them you have about 122 words in your Entry. I would suggest you will need at least 600 words, or more, to properly tell us about the museum. You also will need to remove all the first person references (I, me, mine - etc.). You can say "this Researcher", or "a Researcher" and everyone will know what you mean. In the next hundred years or so somebody might decide to add a paragraph or two and first person references can get confusing.

Don't tell us that "This is a very informative museum and that is why I like it so much, but you should not go without giving yourself 2 to 3 hours to look around because their is lots of reading."

Tell us about some of things you saw and learned about. Why it is a "boggelingly amazing museum" Don't try to just tell us you should show us by examples.

What was your favourite display, What did you see that was most unexpected. You should not tell us everything and spoil all the surprises, but you need to give us several things that will want us to travel to Oklahoma City and visit for ourselves. Please don't expect us to travel hundreds, or thousands. of miles just because you told us we should.

I am sure everyone here wants to see you get this onto the Front Page as an Approved Entry, but you need to do a little more work.

h2g2 Guide Editors

The comment from Florida Sailor is genuinely fair. Please take some time to read some of our other Entries in the Guide and then compare to what you've written so far.

You have a good idea of a place to write about, but it needs to match our requirements before it can be sent to the next step.

As you seem keen to get an Entry into the Guide itself, I am going to send this entry to the Writing Workshop. If you get any comments there, please take their advice.
