She really got a bum rap. Navigating that snake pit of a court with her dad being such a patsy for the new king, would be enough to drive anyone over the edge.

I guess zen didn't get to Denmark yet. But the English would have lost a good play then but I liked your alternative versions of Hamlet better anyway.

Having a fondness for certain herbs and the history
of their usage I have long wondered if Shakespeare
intended a message in Ophelia's fascination with
flowers or if he was implying that floral chemistries
had much if anything to do with her despondency or
indeed if she was even rationally conscious of her
situation when she drowned.
She certainly has achieved her own place in the whole
mystery of romance.
