A Conversation for The Very Verst of jwf: The Three Sisters

Thanks.
Truth to tell I've been working on that one
for over forty years. It started as a song
in the mid-sixties. And perhaps it's the music
I still hear in my head that keeps making me
want to change it up a bit. But even though
I am still not content with it we must accept
that it has now been published 'as is' in the
h2g2 Post and will haunt me for eternity.

Do not despair.
When you rewrite it - as you will - we can always publish a new and improved version.
Many, many poets have done this in the past.
Now I feel like Frank O'Connor's publisher, who, I believe, had to physically wrest the manuscript from the author's hand.
And then there was Thomas Wolfe, who wrote 'Look Homeward, Angel' while standing, writing atop his refrigerator, and dropping the pages into a box. When the box was full, he mailed it from Asheville to New York, where it was edited...
Strange, strange are the ways of artistic creation.
