NaJoPoMo 2012 the 6th The Election

I am completely exhausted by the American Election. At this point it has been called by many news outlets for Obama, but Romney has not conceded yet. That's OK. He can take his time. Rumor has it he did not prepare a concession speech, so maybe his speech-writer will have to write one for him.

Other things I'm happy about and was very anxious about: The anti-same-sex marriage amendment in Minnesota is failing in early returns. Hope that holds. Senator Claire McCaskill is beating Todd-legitimate-rape-Akin. Elizabeth Warren, woohoo! Michelle Bachman is behind right now, which is good cause she's batsmiley - bleep crazy, but that could change. Tammy Baldwin beat Tommy Thompson in the Wisconsin senate race to become the first openly gay senator.

I'm still pretty wound up. I wish I could drink. smiley - stiffdrink I think I need to turn on the New Age station on my TV and take some Klonopin and go to bed.

Deb

I have to admit to a spark of admiration at the tone of (the snippet of) Romney's losing speech. I thought it came across as dignified and genuine.

Still glad he lost though.

I agree with your post on Romneys speech Deb.
"came across as dignified and genuine"

I am also glad he lost.

I am glad the 2 you mentioned HBJ won, and on the east coast the lady
professor (economy)ousted the guy who was a playgirl model in the past. Wish I could remember her name for sure, Elizabeth Warren I believe. She was on the daily show and should of been appointed to the commitee on finances.

I am so glad the election is over for now.
I really want election reform.

I'm glad the election is over as well. It's a huge relief esp since Obama won.

On the subject of election reform, one of my conservative FB acquaintances was complaining about the Electoral College disenfranchising him and he wanted it abolished. I wasn't in touch with him during the 2000 election, but I doubt he was singing the same song.
