Hubby often pushes himself, just walking round the shops with his walking stick makes him feel vulnerable, but he'll do it and then collapse when we get home. I'm often telling him to stop, but he just doesn't want to be disabled. Tough. He is. Get over it.
I too, have wanted to sit in a corner rocking back and forth. I have done once or twice. You're not alone.
