A Conversation for The Post Time-Travel Challenge II: Olympic Journeys

So you want us lazy researchers to get out of our comfy armchairs and write about the Olympics?
What sports could I write about from personal experience ? The crockery breaking competition? The getting-stuck-in-the-mud sailing challenge? The slow bicycle race?
So, a more tangential approach seems called for. Yes, I have got a few ideas, but I don't want to get arrested, or sued, which might rule out some of them. That leaves stories which are silly, or require a fair amount of research .
I'll have to think about it.

I think a crockery breaking competition would be a cool idea for the Olympics. We actually have a fascinating entry on why cricket and golf aren't Olympic sports: A14612032
Alternatively, you could write about London. *Anything* about London. We need to have lots of content that links to the Olympics - but that doesn't mean it isn't h2g2 content. Note the wonderful 'English History - A Condensed Version for the Average Tourist' at A41607858.
Research, yes. Silly, sure. But we need all the voices here. Especially you good writers.
We also need more advice for tourists like this one: 'How to Fake an English Accent in a Chatroom' - A773723.

MVP, you might want to find one of the cultural events in London for 2012. For example: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-15084691
That would be cool and not mess with the ahteletics or sports.

Thanks, Elektra .
Hamlet in Lithuanian sounds interesting. There'll probably be something on in Brighton I could catch.
Key: Complain about this post
