Yesterday the NFL, and the Dallas Cowboys organisation in particular, was sadened to hear about the death of Tex Schramm, the first GM of the Dallas Cowboys and the person involved in a lot of significant changes to the sport of American Football.
He died at the age of 83, only about three months before he was to be inducted into the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honour.
Schramm was a strong influence in the NFL and he had part in changes like moving the goal posts to the back of the end zone from the goal line, the public announcements of penalties by the referee, the moving in of the hash marks on the pitch and the implementation of sudden death over-time to name a few.
He will be missed by the fans and our regards go out to the Schramm family.
